It may be stated better as, "Our perception of the transpiration of events is time." I believe if there was nothing to observe existence, existence would end (only to start anew and have life occur) in an instant. The Universe is rotating at the speed of light inside a particle traveling at light speed creating a Black Hole. The Universe does not experience time, We do. This is tied to the Quantum Theory, "Everything is happening everywhere and all at once."

People experience time differently until focusing on something with the same intent.

The Universe really didn't "begin" until something observed it.

Think of when you were waiting for something important or that you were really excited for. For me at these times, it took FOREVER for that event to happen. Time slowed to a near standstill. Conversely, think of a time when you were having the time of your life. It seemed to fly by, even if by the clock those two things took the same exact time.

Our brains (are like resisters in a circuit) operate at or near the speed of light (everything is happening at once). We can process quite a bit of information and with proper training or extreme motivation, our brains can be supercharged. The story of people's entire lives flashing before their eye's in a near death experience comes to mind. So lets take it further. Brain in a small area and the speed of light processing. Near the moment of death, it is /conceivable for our lightspeed brain to fabricate another entire lifetime before the actual /moment of death. And in this new reality have another moment of death where the brain does the same thing in a never ending chain of lives. Perpetualists believe this Tangentical process recurs infinitely and is tied to the infinitely recurring Black Holes. They are connected via our common energetical relationship (IE. We are all just exotic energy forms in a sea of Universes.) Our intentions and actions determine the focus of, and therefore the conditions of, our next reality or what some Perpetualists call an Awareness.

If the Universe is expanding AND accelerating, space-time becomes a mathematical observation and not explanatory of reality. The acceleration of the expansion and this explanation of Time becomes erroneous in my mind.

Time is not of the world, it is in the mind.

We are 4D creatures in a 3D experience.

We are Time.
